Egreen Gedward
Name: Egreen Gedward
House Affiliation: Slytherin Third Year Prefect - left in January
Notes on Leaving: After Christmas the Ministry took the whole Gedward Family into protection.
Family Background: Egreen Gedward is the only Son of Egreen Gedward Snr and his wife Jadish. The Gedward family is famous wizarding family, and Egreens father was extremely well known in all the best circles before he disappeared just after Egreen was born. Egreen Snr reappeared before Christmas and is now helping the Ministry of Magic and their Wizards in Black with their enquiries.
It seems likely that Egreen Snr had been under the control of dark forces since before the final battle with Voldemort, although the Gedwards have always had a fairly murky reputation in regard to the Dark Arts. The level of tension in the wizarding world, even years after Voldemorts defeat still seems high, and Gedward Snr recently gave a brief statement to the press: "I'll be glad when this whole Voldemort business is cleared up for good and the Gedwards can get back to doing what they have been doing for a 1000 years!"
One wily reporter noted that what the Gedwards had done in the last 1000 years was what Voldemort had accomplished in 6 months. One wonders if Gedwards opposition to Voldemort was based on morals or more on Voldemorts threat to the traditional Status Quo.
It seems that Egreen Snrs wife's connections have helped smooth his path. Although the Gedward family line is traditionally Slytherin Egreen Jnrs mother, Jadish, was in Hufflepuff. His mother spoilt him a bit whilst he was growing up, but who could blame her, for he was the only surviving reminder of her missing husband at the time. Jadish seems a gentle caring woman, who worked part time for the Ministry. She is gifted with plants, and earth magic
Talents/Abilities:Egreen spent a lot of time on his own, reading books, and was often seen walking around with strange tome like lumps under his robes. His relationship with the teachers was generally good, and mid autumn term even Snape treated him well despite some early difficulties.
Egreens magical ability seemed to be very strong, although he seemed slow on picking a spell, when he gets one it is normally powerful. He made a poor dueller, but a better strategic spellcaster. Egreen has a gift for the obscure and deeply arcane and would memorise complex ancient conjurings without difficulty whilst struggling with other simpler magic's.
Pet: Pala, Black Cat, somewhat secretive.
Wand: Long Ebony Wand. It is rumoured that Egreen got his wand from a shop in Knockturn Alley.
