Appearance: Tall and lanky, with knobbly knees and a thin face. Stringy blonde hair that tends to stick up in all directions. Wears thick, foggy glasses that hide his lint-green eyes.
He dimples when he smiles, but he does this very rarely. Very, very quiet hardly ever talked to anyone before the middle of the Third year. Clothing somewhat threadbare. His nose is always in a book.
Family Background: His last name is unknown and he is just known as Jacob. Out of term time he lives in a muggle orphanage in Ireland, though his parents are still alive. His life outside of Hogwarts is obviously quite strained. He has asked Branwen Evans if she would take his belongings over the summer so that they aren't damaged by the older kids at the orphange.
Talents/Special Abilities: The teachers consider he is some sort of genius. He never thinks in those terms, he just knows that his hunger for knowledge is never satisfied. There was so much he wanted to learn, so much he wanted to do... Very keen to get good grades and hopes to get a good job with them right after graduation. Charms is his best subject.

Wand: Eight and a half inches. Mahogany and...unicorn hair. Battered hand-me-down purchased for a handful of Knuts. David Ollivander is making him his own wand - poplar and phoenix feather.
Other Information: Never eats. Has struck up a close freindship with David Ollivander and this appears to have drawn him out of his shell. David and Branwen have invited Jacob to spend some time with them over the summer. Has recently also started expressing interest in Fiona Munroe.
